The Open Data Crowdhackathon will take place on the 10th and 11th of September 2016. It is the 1st Open Data Crowdhackathon to take place in Cyprus. The event will take place in Nicosia, at the premises of IDEA.

The Open Data Crowdhackathon aims to promote the re-use of Public Sector Information in Cyprus and to encourage the development of new apps and products using Open Data through the national government portal http://www.data.gov.cy.

Who can participate?

Young people, developers, designers, analysts and everyone wishing to share an idea or solution for practical issues or to develop a trial innovative product or service relating to the use of Open Data from the Public Sector are welcome to participate.

Project teams can be between 1 to 5 persons and must have knowledge in interface design, in designing and developing web applications.

Participation is open and free, however, given the limited availability, a first come first served policy will be in effect. Interested participants are required to register at https://www.eventora.com/el/Events/open-data-cyprus-crowdhackathon

Do you want to help teach the next generation of programmers? Become a mentor!

Mentoring is an integral part of hackathons and is a great way of giving back to the community. We are looking for mentors that can vastly improve the hacker’s experience of learning and inspire innovation and entrepreneurship through team/mentor interactions. The role of the Mentors will be to assist teams in defining their workflow, building on their ideas, solving problems and developing their final pitches.
