YToffis   He received a five years engineering diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2009 and his MSc in Telecommunications from University College London (UCL) in 2012. He has worked as a researcher on NEDO Grant for Industrial Technology Research Power scavenging solutions for the development of environmentally friendly wireless sensing systems at the University of Tokyo supervised by Prof. Tohru Asami and on ICT-FP7 Content Mediator architecture for content-aware nETworks (COMET) project at the University College of London (UCL) supervised by Prof. George Pavlou. He has designed and implementated an algorithm destined for the economical incorporation and operation of Electricity Production Units of Lesvos island as an intern at the Greek Public Power Corporation S.A. in the department of the Islands Power Supply Direction. He has worked for eight months at the Network Management Center (NMC) of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) with duties in management and maintenance of the Advanced Telematics Network of the University, issuing trouble tickets and using the integrated information system developed to support the trouble ticket mechanism. As an intern at the Smarterphone AS in the summer of 2011, he dealt with the development and testing of software for mobile phones. In the summer of 2012, he has been a Summer Student at CERN (European Laboratory for Particle Physics), where he dealt with the monitoring of the Laboratory electricity grid and performed real time load flows using data from PVSS SCADA Framework, DigSilent PowerFactory Simulator and OPC Interoperability Standard for Industrial Automation, supervised by Dr. Jean-Charles Tournier. He spent December 2012 and January 2013 at the Computer Lab of the University of Cambridge where dealt with the development of a sensor and lighting control platform over a low bandwidth wired home area communication network based on prototype hardware, supervised by Professor Ian Leslie.
