Abstract

PV is the fastest growing renewable energy technology – and needs power electronics to do the interfacing to the grid. In order to make a proper grid connection the PV technology need a robust control strategy as well as additional functions to accommodate the grid codes. The presentation will discuss PV system control methods towards modern grid codes.

Presenter’s bio

Professor Frede Blaabjerg has been professor in Power Electronics and Drives since 1998 at Aalborg University, Denmark working with power electronics and it many applications. He is leading a research team working with power electronics based grid stability and reliability as well as power electronics reliability. Today he is a Villum Investigator and has received numerous awards – recently the Global Energy prize in 2019 and the 2020 IEEE Edison Medal – which is the oldest and highest medal in IEEE.
