Modern society relies heavily on the availability and smooth operation of CIS, such as electrical power systems, water distribution systems and telecommunication networks. In such large-scale, complex engineering systems when a failure occurs due to faults, it can have severe societal, health and economic consequences. The sequential arrival of data in CIS calls for a fault diagnosis engine with adaptive behaviour to achieve and maintain optimal performance. However, the vast majority of existing work falls short on this requirement. UCY is not only an endorser of the \u201cEuropean Charter for Researchers\u201d but has also been awarded the \u201cHR Excellence in Research\u201d logo since 2012. UCY has been raising its international research profile since its establishment in 1989, currently running 150 programmes funded by European and international grants and another 115 programmes funded by the National Research Promotion Foundation. Since the establishment of ERC in 2007, UCY managed to win 14 ERC projects. UCY has eight faculties, 23 departments, and 14 research units and centres. It was established in 2008 as a research unit at UCY and has been upgraded to a European Research Center of Excellence through the EU\u2019s strategic Horizon 2020 program for \u201cSpreading Excellence and Widening Participation \u2013 Teaming\u201d in collaboration with Imperial College London. The Center collaborates with an extended network of national and international academics, as well as, industrial and governmental organisations via its Innovation Hub to assure maximal research impact.
