At KIOS, we explore some of the techniques and technologies that can be used to achieve autonomous tracking and following of moving targets with UAVs.<\/p><p>One common approach to tracking and following moving targets with UAVs is to use computer vision algorithms to detect and track the target in real-time. This can be done using a variety of sensors, such as cameras, lidar, and radar, which can be mounted on the UAV. The UAV can then use this information to navigate and maintain a fixed distance from the target.<\/p><p>Another approach is to use GPS and other navigation systems to track the movement of the target and guide the UAV accordingly. This can be done using a variety of techniques, such as dead reckoning, which involves using the UAV&#8217;s known starting position and its sensors to estimate its current position, or by using satellite navigation systems to determine the UAV&#8217;s position in real-time.<\/p><p>There are also a number of advanced control systems that can be used to achieve more sophisticated tracking and following behaviors with UAVs. These systems can use a variety of inputs, such as the target&#8217;s movement, the UAV&#8217;s position and orientation, and the surrounding environment, to make intelligent decisions about how to control the UAV.<\/p><p>Overall, tracking and following moving targets with UAVs is a complex task that requires a combination of sophisticated sensors, advanced algorithms, and robust control systems.
