Carolina Cortez received a five years engineering diploma in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Power System from the Federal University of Itajubá, Brazil (2014). In 2013 she was awarded a full Scholarship to attended an International Academic Mobility through the Science without Borders program, at the University of East London, UK for 1 a year. She worked for 3 years at Matrix Engenharia em Energia LTDA as a researcher engineer in R&D Projects for Brazilians electricity distribution companies. She was awarded a Scholarship for the MSc program in Electrical Engineering at Federal University of Itajubá (CAPES 5). Her thesis was focused on the economic engineering of the electric power sector and the technical and economic regulation of the Brazilian electric sector. She is currently a Ph.D student and researcher at KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence.
