Eftychios Christoforou has a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical Univ. of Athens, Greece (1994), and a postgraduate diploma in Management from the Mediterranean Inst. of Management, Cyprus (1996). He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Univ. of Canterbury, New Zealand (2000). His doctoral studies were fully supported by a Commonwealth scholarship. After completing his Ph.D. he worked in industry focusing on the design of mechatronic systems, and process dynamics and control (2000-2004). He has worked as Adjunct Professor at Washington Univ. in St. Louis, Dept. of Electrical and Systems Engineering, Missouri (2004-2007). During the same period he also held an appointment as Research Fellow with the Medical School, Dept. of Radiology of the same university. Then he held a position as a Visiting Assistant Professor / Special Scientist at the Univ. of Cyprus, Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering (2007- today). In parallel, he has been involved with KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence as a Research Associate. Currently, he also works on various industrial research and development projects. His research and teaching interests are in the areas of robotics, dynamics, control, and biomedical engineering.
