Elina Argyridou is a postdoctoral Research Fellow at KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence. She received her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Brunel University London, UK (2017) with thesis title: Estimating errors in quantities of interest in the case of hyperelastic membrane deformation. Her research is based on finite elements methods for engineering problems in solid mechanics. Ph.D. research involves considering goal oriented techniques to assess both the discretization error and the modelling error when some quantities of interests related to the membrane are computed. Her research interests include but are not limited to mathematical and computational modelling, numerical analysis, approximation theory, informatics, optimization algorithms for engineering problems.
Elina also worked as a Teaching Assistant at Brunel University London, UK (2013-1016). In addition, she holds a B.Sc. in Mathematics with specialization in Computational Mathematics from University of Athens, Greece (2008), an M.Sc. in Financial Mathematics and Computation from University of Leicester, UK (2010) and an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from University of Cyprus (2013).
