The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence at the University of Cyprus announces one (1) Special Scientist (Project Management Specialist) position, for full-time employment. The successful candidate will provide support with the delivery of the DiGiNN project, contributing to project management activities, stakeholder engagement, documentation, and overall project success.

DiGiNN is the Cyprus DiGital INNovation Hub funded by the European Union Digital Europe Programme and the Cyprus Deputy Ministry for Research, Innovation and Digital Policy. It acts as an one-stop shop for public sector organizations and Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Cyprus, that offers fully subsidized services to help them respond to their digital transformation challenges. The hub offers test-before-invest, training and upskilling, support to find investment and networking services focusing on advance digital technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), High Performance Computing, Cybersecurity and other Advanced digital skills & technologies (IoT).
Who we are:
The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence is the largest research center at the University of Cyprus and in 2017 was upgraded to a European Research Center of Excellence through the KIOS CoE Teaming project. Currently, the Center employs more than 180 people who are supported by externally funded research and innovation projects. Job Details
The successful candidate is expected to:
• Attend project meetings.
• Maintain general record keeping, documentation and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Communicate and promote DiGiNN services to external stakeholders/customers.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports and deliverables.
• Administer Digital Maturity Assessments (DMA surveys and structured interviews) and analyze the results.
• Support customer needs analysis and prioritization.
• Enter DMA results and project KPIs into the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network.
• Develop service recommendations and roadmaps.
• Liaise with KIOS technical experts to document the service scope, limitations, expected deliverables, timeline (project plan), expected duration and contribution from all internal stakeholders.
• Ensure all service agreements and eligibility checks are in place before service implementation begins.
• Track individual projects/services progress and carry out close-out activities.
• Organize, disseminate, and attend service demonstrations and training activities.
• Attend customer meetings (travelling within Cyprus may be required).
• Assist in conducting market research.
• Represent DiGiNN in networking events, expos, festivals etc.

• Awareness of advance digital technologies (e.g. AI, computer vision, data management systems, visualization techniques, natural language bots) will be considered an advantage
Qualifications and Experience:
• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Business and/or Public Administration or Project Management or European Studies or other related field, from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in supporting the implementation of projects.
Employment Terms:
The position is on a contract basis. Initially, a one-year contract will be offered, with a 6-month probation period, which is renewable based on performance. The gross monthly salary depends on the candidate’s qualifications and experience and will be between €1500 – €2200. From this amount, employee contributions to the Cyprus government funds will be deducted. A 13th salary bonus is incorporated in the monthly salary. Maternity leave will be granted based on Maternity Protection Law 1997(Ν.100(Ι)/1997), and the existing amendment laws.

At least the best three candidates that satisfy the required qualifications will be interviewed by a 3-member the Selection Committee. Candidates will be informed of the result of their application by the KIOS CoE.
Applicants need not be citizens of the Republic of Cyprus. Applicants should however ensure, before applying, that in case they are selected they will be residing in Cyprus on a full-time basis during the employment period and submission of application implies acceptance of this condition.
