Lazaros Zacharia

Lazaros Zacharia has a BSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (2013), an MSc in Sustainable Energy Futures with distinction from Imperial College, London (2014) and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from University of Cyprus (2020). Lazaros was working as a Researcher (2015–2020) and as a Research Associate (2020-2021) at KIOS and as an Energy Engineer at the Cyprus Energy Regulatory Authority (2021-2024). Since 2025 he is working as an Assistant Network Engineer at the Electricity Authority of Cyprus for the Transmission System Owner. He is also currently working as a part-time Research Associate at the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence. His research interests lie in the areas of Wide Area Monitoring and Control, real-time simulation, smart grids, microgrids, power systems dynamics and stability, state estimation in the transmission system and renewable energy.
