Rodolfo Da Silva is working at KIOS CoE as a Senior Research Engineer. With over 18 years of professional experience in Germany and Portugal, his work focuses on Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), data quality, and sustainable mobility. Rodolfo has an MSc in Land Management and Monitoring from the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar – Portugal (2005). He previously worked as a GIS and Remote Sensing Expert at the German Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Bonn – Germany (2015 – 2020), and as a Researcher and GIS Expert at the University of Applied Sciences in Cologne – Germany (2012-2015), and also in Lisbon – Portugal as a Technician for GIS (2005-2010).
At KIOS, Rodolfo represents Cyprus in several European initiatives — including NAPCORE, TENtec, TISGRADE, and VERKKO projects — where he plays a central role in the implementation of the National Access Point (CyNAP) for ITS data in Cyprus. His main objective is to ensure the availability of high-quality, interoperable mobility data to support national and European transport policies. His contributions to European ITS communities have been widely recognised, most notably through the Best Engagement Award 2024, granted by ERTICO – ITS Europe, for his outstanding commitment and leadership in advancing ITS data interoperability and stakeholder collaboration across Europe. Beyond his project leadership, Rodolfo contributes actively to the Data Management Committee and the Cultural Committee at KIOS, promoting both data governance excellence and a collaborative institutional culture.
