The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence at the University of Cyprus is pleased to announce the 4th International Conference on Water Distribution Systems Analysis & Computing and Control in the Water Industry (WDSA/CCWI 2026), which will take place on 18-21 May 2026, at the Aliathon Resort in Paphos.

This year’s conference is centered on the theme: “Designing the Next Generation of Urban Water and Wastewater Systems.” Through its technical program, it will offer a unique opportunity for the academic and industrial communities to formulate new challenges, share solutions, and discuss future research directions in smart urban drinking and wastewater systems.

In addition to its technical program, the conference will host the competition “Battle of the Water Networks’. The objective is to design and operate a water distribution system over a long-term horizon under deep uncertainty, with interventions applied in stages. For the first time, this challenge features a staged-design approach, unobservable and unknown uncertainties, and incorporates elements of policymaking and artificial intelligence. The solutions will be assessed using a transparent and inspectable open-source evaluation framework.
