Open Call for Research and Innovation Positions

The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence is the largest research center at the University of Cyprus and in 2017 was upgraded to a European Research Center of Excellence through the EU strategic Horizon 2020 Teaming project. The Center collaborates strategically with Imperial College, London, as well as with a plethora of local and international research organizations and other stakeholders.

The Center provides an inspiring environment for carrying out top-level research in the area of Information Communication Technologies (ICT), with emphasis on the Monitoring, Control, Management and Security of Critical Infrastructures, including power and energy systems, water, transportation and telecommunication networks, healthcare systems, as well as systems for emergency management and response. KIOS researchers develop new knowledge and technological solutions to improve the operation, efficiency, reliability, safety, and security of these systems, bringing major socio-economic and environmental benefits at the local and global level.

Currently, the Center employs more than 180 people (at various positions) and is involved in more than 40 research and innovation projects funded by various European and national funding agencies, as well as in more than 28 projects funded by the industry. In addition, the Center instigates interdisciplinary interaction and promotes collaboration between industry, academia, and research organizations in high-tech areas of global importance.

As a leading Research and Innovation Center in Cyprus and the region on ICT, KIOS CoE is continuously looking to recruit excellent and motivated personnel that can contribute to its vision. This Open Call for Research and Innovation Positions welcomes candidates for the following positions:

• Post-Doctoral Researchers / Research Associates
• Research Engineers
• Software Engineers

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s Degree and/or Postgraduate Degree (M.Sc., PhD) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or Mathematics or a relevant field to the job position, from an accredited institution.

* For interested Student Interns the degree certificate is not required, applicants can submit their latest transcript.

• Previous research experience and/or other experience relevant to the job position will be considered an advantage.
• Very good knowledge of the English language.

EMPLOYMENT TERMS
The positions are on a contract basis. Initially, a one-year contract will be offered which is renewable annually based on performance. The KIOS Center of Excellence offers competitive salaries based on qualifications and prior experiences, as well as many opportunities for further career development and advancement within the Center.

ii. A detailed curriculum vitae in English or in Greek.
iii. Copies of degrees and transcripts of BSc/MSc/PhD degree(s).
iv. Short description of academic background, research experiences and/or other relevant experience to the job position (1 page maximum).
v. Copy of English language certificate (GCSE, IELTS, ETS TOEFL, or other relevant certificate demonstrating proficiency in English).
vi. Names and contact details of at least two referees that can provide reference letters.
