Demetris Stavrou received his MEng in Electrical Electronic Engineering in 2004 and his MSc in Modern Digital Communication Systems in 2005 from Sussex University, Brighton UK. He worked as an Ericsson support engineer at Cyprus Telecommunication Authority in cellular telecommunications department from 2005 to 2007. He is currently a Graduate Research Assistant at the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Cyprus. His research interests include path planning of autonomous vehicles, localization in robotic systems in the context of Mobile Wireless Sensor Networks (MWSN). He has an extensive experience in implementing various algorithms in an embedded environment. He is currently working in a project funded by the Research Promotion Foundation of Cyprus involving cooperative control of mobile wireless sensor nodes. He is a member of IEEE and the Robotics and Automation Society.
