Hanna Hnatova is currently a Research Engineer II at the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence. Her work focuses on power and energy systems, including smart grids, electric vehicle charging, battery energy storage, renewable-energy integration, under-frequency load shedding, and optimization-based decision-support tools. At KIOS, she has contributed to national and European research projects by developing and validating MATLAB- and Python-based optimization algorithms, simulation workflows, and practical software tools for real-world electricity infrastructure applications. Her key contributions include the development of an optimal under-frequency load-shedding tool delivered to the Electricity Authority of Cyprus, optimization methods for EV charging stations with integrated renewable energy and storage, and rolling-horizon EV charging scheduling techniques. Hanna graduated from Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University with a degree in Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics, under the educational program Electric Vehicles and Automotive Electronics. She also holds a Master’s degree in Intelligent Critical Infrastructure Systems from the University of Cyprus. She is committed to delivering high-quality research, supporting collaborative project work, and translating research outcomes into practical solutions for energy-system stakeholders.
