Kalina Georgiades

Kalina Georgiades is the Project Manager of the KIOS Center of Excellence and coordinates the management of all the EU funded projects being delivered at the Center. She is the project manager for the flagship project awarded to the Center – Teaming and works to support several aspects of the overall management and coordination of the Centre’s development priorities, including partnership development, funding, communication, and publicity.

Kalina is a European Funds specialist and programme manager with over 25 years’ experience of working in the public sectors in the UK and Cyprus. She has project management expertise in research and innovation projects (e.g. Horizon 2020, ERC, FP7 etc) as well as an excellent track record in securing and managing project including regional development projects (e.g ERDF). She has over the years coordinated and/or managed over 50 projects and several of the related proposals for competitive funding. In addition, to training government authority representatives to access and manage EU funds, Kalina has established systems and procedures to support the management of EU funds.

Kalina has worked at both strategic policy and operational levels in EU funding, contributing to programme development, building sustainable multi agency partnerships and project consortiums, coordinating and preparing EU funding proposals and coordinating/managing projects. She has also coordinated contributions to policy formation on aspects related to sustainable development at EU, national and regional levels.

Her experience includes working with a number of government departments providing expert support and coordinating aspects of proposal development and project management. She has also steered and directed strategic approaches in relation to government and European funding priorities. She worked for several years in the UK public sectors (education & NGO)and worked with regional government authorities to facilitate wider access to funding to support sustainable and local development of communities, cities and industry.

Kalina is an expert evaluator for the European Commission and an ad-hoc advisor for government in relation to EU funds. Kalina has a Masters in European Studies from K.U Leuven, Belgium and a BA in Politics and European Studies. She is also a certified train the trainer and has delivered dedicated courses on securing and managing EU funds.
