After graduating in the top 1% of his class as a Mechanical Engineer at the University of Surrey, Pavlos pursued a PhD in Nanotechnology and Nanoelectronics at the Advanced Technology Institute (ATI) of University of Surrey. His PhD was based on Printed Electronics and Energy Storage, particularly Supercapacitors. His research was focused on a wide range of objectives from materials level to device level, which included materials synthesis and development, devices fabrication, materials and devices characterisation and devices integration into circuits, with strong emphasis towards developing real-world related solutions. In general, Pavlo’s research experience is broad and diverse, and occurred over time during his PhD through numerous collaboration projects on radiofrequency (RF) energy harvesting, inkjet-printed Zn/MnO2 batteries, electrolyte-gated InAs MOSFET transistors, epidermal carbon nanotubes (CNT) strain sensors, flexible wireless battery charging, and inkjet-printed conjugated polymers artificial retinas for sight restoration. Pavlos is the recipient of a series of academic awards including the Hudswell Scholarship 2020 from the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET).
Pavlos is currently a post-doctoral researcher at the KIOS Research Center working on photonic biosensors for implantable brain electronics, under the supervision of Professor Stavros Iezekiel and Professor Constantinos Pitris.
