Rafaella Elia

Rafaella Elia received her B.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Cyprus, in 2017 and 2024, respectively. Her Ph.D. research focused on biomedical signal processing, including machine learning, pattern recognition, and wearable sensors, where she explored innovative ways to integrate sensors into diverse applications and analyze sensor data. During her studies, she worked as a Research Assistant at the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence. Since April 2025, she has been a Research Associate at KIOS, working on the GuardAI project, developing robust and secure AI systems for safety-critical applications. She also serves as Student Activities Chair of the IEEE Cyprus Section.
