Stella Hadjistassou

Dr. Stella K. Hadjistassou is Research Fellow at the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence at the University of Cyprus. She has served for two years as the Acting Director of the Language Center at the UCY, where she also held a Visiting Lecturer position. Stella K. Hadjistassou has extensive expertise in composing and leading large EU-funded projects in Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL). Her areas of interest include Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Mobile-Assisted Language Learning (MALL), ESL teacher education, ecological perspectives in linguistics and Cultural-historical Activity Theory (CHAT). More recently, she has been exploring the integration of newly devised AR applications into intercultural telecollaborations. Further, as part of the ReDesign project, Stella explored the role of a newly developed Learning Management System, ReDesign, in promoting intercultural telecollaborations, exchange of instructional material among faculty in different academic institutions across Europe and students’ engagement in various activities. Stella has also taught multiple traditional, hybrid, and online courses both in the United States and Europe. She has also published multiple articles and book chapters in this area.
