Tania Panayiotou

Tania Panayiotou is currently a Research Fellow at the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence. She received her diploma degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece in 2005 and the Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Cyprus in 2013. She has previously worked as a Researcher/Research Fellow at the KIOS Research Center (2006-2015), and as an Associate Researcher at the Department of Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Informatics at the Cyprus University of Technology (2015-2016). She also served as an Adjunct Faculty at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Cyprus (Fall 2014), at the Department of Information and Communication Systems, Open University of Cyprus (Spring 2015), and at the School of Informatics, Neapolis University Pafos (2016-2017).

Her research interests are in the area of Optical Networks as well as Transportation Networks. Some of the research areas that she is focusing on include: Protection and Restoration in Optical Networks, Fault Localization in Optical Networks, and Machine Learning towards Optical Network Control and Management Softwarization/Automation. Regarding Transportation Networks, the emphasis is on Routing and Charging techniques for Electric Vehicles.

She has published several peer-reviewed conference and journal papers in the most prestigious conferences and journals in her field. Her research has been funded by national (Research Promotion Foundation (RPF) of Cyprus) and European grants (H2020), the University of Cyprus, and the Cyprus University of Technology.
