The KIOS CoE celebrates research, innovation and science by participating in the European Researcher’s Night 2023, organized in Cyprus by the Research and Innovation Foundation, on September 29th, 2023 at the State Fair in Nicosia. The main theme of the event will be the five EU Missions: Adaptation to Climate Change, Cancer, Ocean Seas and Waters, Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities, Soil Health and Food.
Young researchers from KIOS will inform participants on the importance of scientific research for society at large and its impact on the citizens’ daily lives, and will demonstrate how innovative technological solutions can make critical infrastructure systems more intelligent!
KIOS booth will be in the “Smart Cities” zone and visitors will have the opportunity to learn about renewable energy technologies and smart water systems; how Artificial Intelligence improves drones for emergency response. Furthermore, visitors will have the opportunity to play the KIOS Virtual City Game, in which users deal with an incident in the city, which seriously affects the operation of the systems.
The European Researchers’ Night, funded under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), is a Europe-wide public event that brings researchers closer to the public.
