Three more KIOS distinguished lecturers share expertise with researchers in Cyprus

During the first three months of 2019, the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence, as part of the KIOS Distinguished Lecture Series, hosted three world-class researchers, who delivered scientific lectures and shared their expertise with the KIOS researchers.

Professor Cesare Alippi from the Politecnico di Milano and the Università della Svizzera italiana, Switzerland gave a talk on “Adversarial learning and constant curvature manifolds to detect changes in graph streams”. Professor Markos Papageorgiou from the Technical University of Crete presented the topic “Freeway traffic control”, whereas Professor Zhongsheng Hou from Beijing Jiaotong University and Qingdao University, China, talked about “PID and Its puzzles — MFAC and progress”.

The three lectures were open to the public and attracted approximately 200 attendees in total, including several academics and researchers from the University of Cyprus. The distinguished lecturers’ expertise was very well-received and appreciated by the audience that had the opportunity to find out more about certain topics through Q&A and discussion sessions at the end of each talk.

The KIOS Distinguished Lectures Series was inaugurated in 2017 and has since become an excellent opportunity for world renowned scientists to discuss and share their knowledge on topics related to science and technology with researchers here in Cyprus.
