The partners of the EU-funded GuardAI project, gathered for their 3rd Plenary Meeting on 17–18 November 2025 at the KIOS CoE premises to review the project’s progress, coordinate upcoming activities, and further strengthen cooperation toward advancing robust and secure Edge AI technologies for safety-critical applications.
Over the two-day meeting partners presented updates on system requirements, architecture design, data acquisition processes, and advances in the project’s core research areas, including adversarial resiliency, context-aware robustness, anomaly detection, and integrated security solutions for Edge AI systems. These sessions facilitated constructive discussion on current achievements, identified challenges requiring collective attention, and helped shape the strategic direction for the next phase of work.
Another major focus of the meeting was the progress of the project’s three use cases, where partners reviewed the status of infrastructures, data availability, scenario development, and planned validation activities. The use cases play a critical role in demonstrating the applicability and effectiveness of GuardAI results in realistic operational environments, and the meeting ensured strong alignment between research outputs and end-user requirements.
Consortium members also discussed activities related to dissemination, communication, exploitation planning, and intellectual property management. Engagement with European initiatives in the area of AI, as well as the project’s contributions to certification and standardization efforts, were highlighted as essential channels for maximizing project impact. A dedicated standardization seminar provided further insights into GuardAI’s role within emerging European frameworks for trustworthy and secure AI technologies.
The plenary concluded with a summary of key outcomes, agreed next steps, and renewed commitment among partners to continue advancing innovation in robust and secure Edge AI for safety-critical applications. The collaborative exchanges throughout the meeting strengthened the consortium’s cohesion and ensured a shared vision moving forward.
