The DiGiPOL platform is now live, enabling citizens across Cyprus to access key police services online — without the need for physical presence.
The Cyprus Police, a KIOS Innovation Hub partner, officially launched today (11 June 2026) the DiGiPOL platform — a digital transformation initiative that marks a significant milestone in the modernisation of public services in Cyprus.
DiGiPOL is a state-of-the-art platform that digitises more than 30 procedures and services provided by the Cyprus Police to the public, including the issuance of criminal record certificates, the provision of police reports, and the submission of declarations for lost identity cards. Through the government portal GOV.CY, citizens can now submit requests and complete these procedures entirely online, with responses processed and returned automatically through the DiGiPOL system — eliminating the need for in-person visits.
The platform is expected to bring significant benefits for both citizens and members of the Cyprus Police, including faster access to digitised data, simplified request submission, contactless transactions, immediate access to educational material and answers to frequently asked questions, and faster approvals of requests.
The project was led by the Cyprus Police in collaboration with KIOS CoE, which was responsible for the digital transformation analysis, developing of prototypes to enable test-before-invest in innovation projects, preparation of technical specifications and evaluation of system performance and with NETU, the contracted company responsible for the platform’s development and implementation.
The launch of DiGiPOL represents a significant step forward for digital governance in Cyprus, demonstrating the tangible impact of research-driven collaboration between academia and public institutions.
