Prof. Youmin Zhang: Making Autonomous Systems Smarter, Safer, More Reliable and More Resilient

The KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence at the University of Cyprus is pleased to announce the lecture of the internationally recognized Professor Youmin Zhang, from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada.

The lecture entitled “Making Autonomous Systems Smarter, Safer, More Reliable and More Resilient” will take place on Tuesday, 7 June 2022, at 11:00 (Cyprus time), in Amphitheater LRC012 at the Learning Resource Centre UCY Library “Stelios Ioannou”, University of Cyprus. In this lecture, Prof. Zhang will talk about the challenges and latest developments on making these unmanned/autonomous systems smarter, safer, more reliable, and more resilient in terms of Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC), integrating with Remote Sensing (RS) techniques.

Dr. Youmin Zhang is currently a Professor at the Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Aerospace Engineering and the Concordia Institute of Aerospace Design and Innovation (CIADI) at Concordia University in Canada. His main research interests and experience are in condition monitoring, health management, fault diagnosis and fault-tolerant control, cooperative guidance, navigation, and control of unmanned aerial/space/ground/marine vehicles with applications to forest fires, smart grids, smart cities monitoring, detection, and protection by combining with remote sensing techniques under the framework of cyber-physical systems. He has published 8 books, over 550 journal and conference papers.
